wednesday, april 8: today i chaperoned my daughters field trip to the wildlife management area. thanks goodness most of our activities were able to be enjoyed INSIDE as the weather around here lately is ANYTHING but spring-like! this morning the temp outside was 34 degrees and there were some snow flurries flying. below is a picture of my group. they are a bunch of nichole's friends and we really had a great time.
after lunch we went on an hike. there wasn't much to look at, but the guide made it very informative. here the group was introduced to "skunk cabbage" (the tiny green plants). guess what - it smells just like a skunk!
on our way back the the center, i spotted this bush that is just beginning to bloom. 
and the trees against the blue sky made for a great ending photo!
