We've been traveling again. This time it was a little business & a little pleasure for hubby, and for me - well it was mostly pleasure! Our journey began Sunday when we arrived at Mo.unt Washin.gton R.esort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire (aka: the White Mountains) and ended Friday morning in Burlington, Vermont. Friday, Day 176:

Before starting our long trek home, we took a quick walk down to Lake Champlain's harbor. I just loved the way these boats looked resting so calmly on the water.

Thursday, Day 175:

No sooner did we arrive at our hotel the sky broke wide open again!! After the rain passed, we ventured out to see the town. We found this awesome little restaurant that served organic Flat bread pizzas. ALL the ingredients were organic right down to the wheat flour used in the flat bread. Your flat bread is baked in a brick oven heated by wood. It was so cool!! Wish we had something like this around in my town.

After hubby had a business meeting with his portfolio manger & the sun came out, we traveled to Vermont's Finest Ice Cream Factory - Ben & Jerry's. Sorry - no photos of inside the factory were allowed in case there was a spy among the group from H.aagen Da.zs. We got to sample the "new" flavor: Boston Cream Pie. This is not going to make my top 5 list. Since that was just a teaser, we got a "real" serving of ice cream after the tour. My #1 choice; Ch.erry Garc.ia!

Thursday morning we left Mou.nt Washin.gton Resort & traveled to Burlington, Vermont to meet with hubby's portfolio manger. The trip didn't start out great, it was dreary, gray and rained a lot. This made for a "white knuckled" 2 hour trip. Blah :-(

Wednesday, Day 174:

There were hiking trails all around the resort. It is such a beautiful area, so green & fresh. And the wildlife is not afraid of humans. This little fellow even posed for his photo. Others have seen bear or fox while on the trails, but on our hike, a red squirrel was all we saw - whew!!!

Tuesday, Day 173:

We were on a mission tonight to spot moose! We had seen signs that read "Moose Crossing", heard stories from others who had seen a moose but we had yet to see one for ourselves. So after supper, we took a drive and not long into our drive, our desire of spotting a moose came true. They would just walk out of the woods and feed in the marsh next to the road. Even when we got out of the car, they just stopped eating and looked up at us. Sorry for the poor quality of photo, but it was getting dark.

After the business meetings were over for the morning we hiked Flume Gorge. It's a natural 800 foot long gorge where your walk past waterfalls, scenic pools, mountain views and glacial boulders.

Monday, Day 172:

Today we rode The Mount Washington Cog Railway all the way to the top!! You can't tell from the picture but it was very windy & cold, 40 degrees. Needless to say we didn't stay outside on the mountain very long.

Sunday, Day 171:

After a long 10 hour drive we arrived at our destination, The Mount Washington Resort, New Hampshire. It is a VERY beautiful resort but very old. I LOVE the round porch & spent a lot of time on it.
