Friday, Day 296: On my morning walk, I loved the way the fog hovered over the pond & the geese were an added bonus that morning.

Thursday, Day 295: Happy 11th Birthday Nichole! We celebrated at home with her FAVORITE foods: ham loaf, mashed potatoes & peas. Yummo :-)
And CHEESECAKE! Oh yeah - she's my girl :-)
No your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Her outfit has changed from the first photo. She got new flannel jammie's, fuzzy slippers and a Ninten.do DS. game.

Wednesday, Day 294: The fifth graders from our four elementary schools competed in a fire prevention poster contest. Nichole took first place in her school. Each first place winner was invited to attend a dinner where a grand prize winner would be chosen. Can you tell by the smile on her face where she placed? That's right, she was the grand prize winner. Not only did she get a cool blue ribbon, but she also received a check for a reasonable amount of money.

Tuesday, Day 20: We were in Alexandria, VA for a mini-vacation & work for Phil. While Phil was in a meeting Tuesday morning, the kids & I walked around town.
This is one of the original cobble stone roads still used in Alexandria today.
This blue house is in the Ge.nius Boo.k of Wor.ld Recor.ds for being the smallest house. It's 7 1/2 ft wide. Can't image living in such a small space but it's very cute.

Monday, Day 292: We toured Washington DC starting with the Ca.pital building. I know it's not the whole building, but I really liked the shot.
Then walked & walked to the Mon.ument, took a ride to the top & viewed the views. Looks like the monument is coming out of Phil's head. Sorry honey - I need to work on that :-(
And a Wash.ington DC trip wouldn't be complete without a stop by the Whit.e Hou.se. Guess everyone was busy that day, as we didn't get any glances of the O.bamas.

Friday, Day 289: Trying our hand at home schooling next to a roaring fire. She was a trooper as she had a weeks worth of work to make up.

Wednesday, Day 287: These items became my BFF's for the week. Nichole came down with "the" flu and was home from school for 3 days. We needed her to get better quick because we were leaving for DC on Sunday. That antibiotic was amazing!! She was feeling herself by Friday & was begging me to let her go to school.

peas? okay, you have THE sweetest child. and healthy too. ☺ the house is hilarious. who in the world wants to live in that small of a place. other than someone who hates a lot of housework, right? all these photos brought a smile to my face. you have such a beautiful life renee, way to show gratefulness for every bit of it!
wow, you have been up to alot! that trip to DC and Alexandria looks so awesome! i went there when my kids were little, they don't really remember it. but i would love to go back. congrats to your girl, for her prize and her birthday, and her being well! these are all beautiful photos! thanks for sharing.
