Cheyenne Rodeo

Sunday, July 31st

Howdy ya'll! Today was the final rodeo at Frontier Days in Cheyenne and man did we have a show to watch. It was SO HARD to choose a few photos, but here a few we liked!

We needed to "fit in" (if that was even possible!) Cowboy hats for everyone.

A few 8 second rides (or less for some cowboys) . . .

some cattle roping . . . .

cattle wrestling anyone?

But the most wild event was the Wild Horse Riding. These horses have NEVER been ridden or even associated with people. There is a team of 3 cowboys that are assigned a wild horse. They need to saddle it then ride it around the track. The team who does this is the winner. The horse below gave the pink team a run for their money. He was literally dragging the 2 guys that were trying to hold him down the track. There were only 2 teams were successful in finishing the race.

I think I can safely speak for the whole family and say that this was a neat experience! It was long, but we all enjoyed something.

Tomorrow is another long travel day. We will be leaving Cheyenne behind and heading to Jackson Hole where more adventures lie ahead for us!
